Project: Documentary titled

« A SMILE FOR MIRO / Un sourire pour Miro »

Produced by : Fair-Play / Esperamos Films

Length : 60 minutes

Synopsis

“Our friend is going to die. We want to cheer him up.”

In the face of a painful ordeal, two boys discover the unexpected power of a smile.

Bastien and Nicolas, 10- and 12-year old brothers, tell the story of Miro, stricken by diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma. Through their eyes, we see them embark on a quest for medical answers, share their philosophical reflections and pay homage to their good friend.

The boys confide to host Jean-Marie Lapointe: “We took up the challenge of making Miro smile until the end!”

A SMILE FOR MIRO is a touching documentary film initiated by children for another child, where humour and friendship transcend everything. An enlightening story. But most of all, a marvellous lesson in love.
