A tsunami of smiles, a wave of comforting solidarity, a source of inspiration is still making news…

People still remember from 2012, the widely publicized story of the little boy, Miro Angers-Laurin, who touched Quebecers’ hearts. At just 11 years old, young Miro was diagnosed with a very rare and incurable type of brain cancer. But despite all he went through, Miro lived out the last months of his life with a smile on his face – thanks to the fantasy and grace of his family and friends, and to the generosity of more than 7500 people who cybernetically sent him their best smiles via the website: www.unsourirepourmiro.org.

Today, the MIRO Foundation continues to distribute smiles. Our primary mission is to support the children diagnosed with diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma and their families. The MIRO Foundation also aspires to stimulate the medical research necessary, until a treatment solution is found.

But in order to do this, the MIRO Foundation needs the documentary « A SMILE FOR MIRO ». This film will help to make Miro’s story more broadly known, to raise awareness around this terrible illness (diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma), and to mobilise public opinion to support the important work of researchers.
